Yunnan’s complex climate features high humidity, especially during the rainy season, increasing the need for effective damp-proofing. Groundwater infiltration posed a challenge for the basement. The region’s rainy climate also tested the roof’s waterproofing performance. These conditions necessitated advanced techniques and well-planned construction to meet high-quality standards.
Solution
The project utilized a double-layer SBS waterproofing membrane for the roof, a composite system of SBS membrane and flexible coating for the basement, and KINJOYA PU AQR polyurethane coating for interior wet areas. The roof design considered Yunnan’s intense sunlight, UV radiation, and temperature variations, using durable SBS modified asphalt membrane in a double-layer configuration. This robust barrier resists thermal stress and minor structural movement. In critical clean areas like operating rooms and ICUs, environmentally friendly polyurethane coating was used on walls and floors. Its seamless, smooth surface is easy to clean, meeting stringent hygiene standards. Key details like pipe penetrations were reinforced with waterstop strips, embedded rings, and multiple sealant applications.
Outcomes
The project achieved leak-free delivery, meeting the required quality standards for the roof waterproofing. The five-year warranty for these critical areas ensures building safety and occupant comfort. Strict design and construction management reduce long-term maintenance costs and prevent operational disruptions, ensuring the hospital’s continuous and stable operation. Since opening, the patient environment has significantly improved, and access to high-quality traditional Chinese medicine services has increased. Patient satisfaction has risen, supporting the “Healthy Xundian” initiative.
