KIN FLXDO HP
EPDM Waterproofing Membrane

KIN FLXDO HP is a polymer waterproof membrane made primarily from ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber, with an appropriate amount of butyl rubber, vulcanizing agents, accelerators, plasticizers, reinforcing agents, and other auxiliary materials added. It is meticulously processed through multiple procedures including internal mixing, calendering and filtering, extrusion molding, and vulcanization. With its outstanding overall performance, it has become the preferred material for numerous projects with strict requirements for waterproof quality and durability.

  • Additional Layer Construction: Special areas such as internal and external corners, pipe roots, and drainage outlets must first have an additional layer applied. This can be done using a polyurethane coating or by laying a layer of membrane material to enhance the waterproofing capacity in these leak-prone areas.

  • Glue Application (Adhesive Type): Lay the membrane on a clean substrate, and use a long-handled roller brush dipped in a special adhesive (such as 401 or 404 adhesive) to evenly apply it to both the membrane and the substrate. Avoid repeatedly brushing the same spot during application to prevent gel formation. Use a brush for special areas like pipe roots and drainage outlets. After applying the adhesive, allow it to dry until it is basically non-sticky to the touch before proceeding with laying the membrane.

  • Membrane Laying: Start from the downhill side of the slope, and snap a reference line. The lengthwise direction of the membrane should be perpendicular to the slope direction. During laying, full spreading, strip spreading, spot spreading, or floating methods can be used. The adhesive amount differs with each method: full spreading 0.33 kg/m², spot spreading 0.22 kg/m², strip spreading 0.20 kg/m², and floating method 0.10 kg/m²; the adhesive amount for overlapping areas of the membrane is 0.10 kg/m².

  • Air Expulsion and Compaction: After laying each roll of membrane, immediately use a soft long-handled roller to press from one end across the width, expelling the air between the membrane and the substrate, ensuring the membrane is tightly bonded to the substrate.

KIN FLXDO HP Storage

  • Waterproof membranes and matching adhesives should be stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry warehouse, away from heat sources, with temperatures ideally controlled between -15℃ and 35℃, and relative humidity maintained at 50% - 80%. Adhesives contain organic solvents and are flammable, so they should be stored separately, away from fire. Membranes should be kept away from strong oxidizers, strong acids and bases, organic solvents, etc., to prevent additive failure or accelerated aging of the rubber. During transportation, membranes should be protected from squeezing, collision, and exposure to sun and rain, keeping the packaging intact. Membranes can be shipped as general cargo, but it is necessary to ensure that the transport vehicle is clean and dry, avoiding mixing with sharp objects to prevent the membranes from being scratched.

  • All information is nominal values at the time of manufacturing, and related performance properties are based on the "as manufactured" condition. Actual values may vary depending on application methods, substrate conditions, environmental factors, and specific product configurations.
