TPO Membrane

TPO waterproofing membrane is made from thermoplastic polyolefin alloy, combining rubber-like flexibility with weldability of plastics. It contains no chlorine or plasticizers, making it environmentally friendly and compliant with green building standards. Excellent weather, chemical, and aging resistance, plus high reflectivity, reduce urban heat island effect. Hot-air welding ensures strong seams. Widely used in industrial plants, commercial buildings, cold storage, stadium roofs, and underground works. We offer fabric-reinforced and non-reinforced TPO membranes, with basic and high-performance series for different climates, providing energy-efficient and long-lasting waterproofing for modern construction.

Key Advantages of TPO Waterproofing Membrane

Environmental Friendliness and Energy Efficiency

TPO membranes are chlorine-free and contain no plasticizers, making them an environmentally responsible choice. Their white or light-colored surfaces offer high solar reflectivity, reducing building cooling loads and combating urban heat island effects. This combination of eco-friendly composition and energy-saving performance aligns well with green building certification requirements.

Outstanding Physical Properties

The thermoplastic polyolefin formulation provides excellent flexibility and elasticity, allowing the membrane to accommodate structural movements and thermal expansion. Its hot-air weldability creates seams that are as strong as the membrane itself, ensuring a monolithic waterproof barrier. The material also exhibits good resistance to weather, chemicals and biological growth.

Typical Applications for TPO Waterproofing Membrane

Low-Slope and Flat Roofing Systems

TPO membranes are extensively used on commercial, industrial and institutional buildings with low-slope or flat roofs. Their light-reflective surfaces reduce cooling costs while providing reliable waterproofing protection. The large sheet widths and fast welding process make them particularly efficient for covering expansive roof areas with minimal seams.

Cold Storage and Controlled Environment Facilities

The material's ability to maintain flexibility at low temperatures makes it ideal for refrigerated warehouses and cold storage facilities. TPO membranes perform reliably in environments where temperatures fluctuate significantly, maintaining their waterproofing integrity without becoming brittle. They are also suitable for clean rooms and facilities requiring hygienic, non-shedding surfaces.

Eco-Friendly & Energy-Efficient TPO Membrane

Firstly, TPO membrane typically features a white, highly reflective surface that effectively reflects solar radiation, reducing roof temperature and lowering building cooling energy consumption, aligning with green building energy-saving concepts. This cool roof effect not only helps mitigate the urban heat island effect but also extends the membrane's own service life. Secondly, TPO material itself contains no plasticizers or chlorine, releasing no harmful substances during production, use, and recycling, making it an environmentally friendly waterproofing material. Its recyclability reduces construction waste generation, meeting the requirements of circular economy and sustainable development.
